A diverse group of statewide religious leaders join the New Mexico State Legislature, the All Pueblo Council of Governors, the City of Santa Fe, and Santa Fe County in renewing a call for the permanent protection of the Caja del Rio, a 106,000 acre parcel of land south of Santa Fe. 

“The Caja del Rio is one of the most sacred, ecologically and historically significant landscapes in the entire country,” said Reverend Andrew Black, a minister at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe and founder of EarthKeepers 360. 

“The desert spirituality of the Caja del Rio has forged the identity of the American southwest and religious leaders from across New Mexico recognize how important the area is as a place of prayer, pilgrimage, ceremony, worship, silence and solitude.”
