On March 27, the All Pueblo Council of Governors (APCG) issued a press release endorsing potential federal legislation to protect the Caja. The release quotes multiple Pueblo Governors and highlights the diversity of groups working together to protect the Caja for future generations. Federal legislation should "...conserve and permanently protect the region's cultural, ecological, and spiritual values." Read the full press release here.

On March 26, the Caja del Rio Coalition issued a similar release calling for deeper federal protections of the Caja.

"Hispano and Indigenous communities have used the Caja del Rio for centuries for religious ceremonies, grazing, firewood and piñon gathering and hunting. The area contains significant portions of El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, the longest Euro-American trade route, linking Mexico City to Northern New Mexico and is home to a rich ecosystem that provides essential habitat for wildlife."
