Anna Hansen, treasurer for the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area and a former Santa Fe County Commissioner, shared her view on the importance of protecting the Caja with the Santa Fe New Mexican.

“As a member of the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area for the past eight years and a member of the Caja del Rio Coalition, I have worked alongside many to protect the land, water, and people of the northern Rio Grande.

We view this as a sacred trust with our communities. As a congressionally designated heritage area, we have a responsibility to ensure that the voices of our communities are represented in decisions that impact this landscape.”
