As the seasons shift and the autumn sun hits the desert landscape, we’re reminded just how lucky we are to live in the Land of Enchantment and the importance of preserving our cherished New Mexico landscapes for generations to come. What better way to share that gratitude than to participate in a community clean-up?
On Saturday, November 4th 2023, the coalition dedicated to protecting the Caja del Rio will be hosting their annual fall clean-up. The event will begin by meeting in the parking lot of the La Cieneguilla Petroglyphs at 9:30am.
At 10am, we’ll transition our teams of volunteers into the Caja and distribute bags to everyone. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves, hats, and water with them. Volunteers who have a truck are also encouraged to help transport large items and filled trash bags to the dumpster. Special thanks to the Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency for donating the dumpster this year! In years past, our incredible volunteers have filled each dumpster to the brim.
Teams will break at 1pm where we’ll gather for lunch (provided by the Caja coalition) take some photos, and share stories.
There’s no RSVP necessary and as always, this event is completely free. So invite a friend (or two) and join us for the day as we work together to preserve the Caja del Rio.
