Let’s Celebrate the Caja del Rio

8/12/22

Culture, Land, Water & Wildlife

As you know, there is growing momentum and success in protecting our public lands –including our historically and culturally significant spaces in New Mexico. Right now we are faced with a huge opportunity to protect one of the  most geologically, biologically, and culturally diverse areas in our state: the ‘Caja del Rio Cultural Heritage and Wildlife Area’ in Santa Fe County.

On Friday, Aug. 12th, 2022, the Caja del Rio Coalition is hosting a fun, free community-led event to educate and engage the public  about our ongoing efforts to expand permanent protections to this cultural treasure in New Mexico. Come listen to incredible voices and dynamic leaders talk about why the Caja is important to them and their community. There will be a short movie, free food, free music, and free beer! More information here.

During this event we will have an opportunity to celebrate the bio-diversity and culture that converges in the Caja del Rio area,  while engaging community members and leaders to be part of our ongoing efforts to expand protections for this cultural treasure in New Mexico. (This is a community event and not a political fundraiser)

If you’d like to learn more about our effort to protect the culture, water, land, and wildlife of Caja del Rio, come out to  our free and fun event on Friday, Aug. 12 in Santa Fe, NM starting at 2 pm MST. Make sure to RSVP today to secure your spot!

We hope to see you there!
