The 2026 Caja del Rio Clean Up was a huge success. The volunteers pulled 2.67 tons of garbage off the land, including a boat, 9 mattresses, a camper shell, and a refrigerator.

Illegal dumping is a major threat to the Caja and all public lands. It harms the wildlife, the land, and the humans that use the space.

As one person, these tasks can feel overwhelming and impossible. This weekend was a reminder that we can all make a difference and our efforts do matter, especially when we work together.
